Terms of Service
Effective June 13, 2026 · Last updated June 13, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PreCode. By visiting the site, joining the waitlist, creating an account when available, or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
Current availability
The public website currently offers a landing page, waitlist signup, MCP documentation, and these legal pages. The in-app planning product (accounts, projects, interviews, document generation, and exports) is not open to the general public during this waitlist period.
The PreCode MCP (`@precode/mcp`) is free to use, published on the public npm registry, and runs locally in your MCP host. It works with any spec format and is optimized for PreCode documentation packages. No PreCode account is required.
The service
PreCode is a planning layer before coding. When available, it helps you describe a startup idea, complete a structured product and technical interview, generate a package of Markdown planning documents, edit content in a document workspace, and export files for use with tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Replit, Bolt, Lovable, v0, Codex, and similar coding agents or AI builders.
PreCode does not generate, host, or deploy application code for you. Outputs are planning artifacts only.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or older if required where you live) and able to form a binding contract. You may not use PreCode if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
Accounts and security
When account creation is open, you may register with email and password through Supabase Auth. Sign-in with Google may be offered in the future; until it is enabled in the product, only email/password registration applies.
You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit (project details, interview answers, edits to documents, and exports). You grant PreCode a limited license to host, process, display, and transmit your content solely to operate and improve the service, including sending relevant portions to AI and infrastructure providers described in our Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the rights to submit your content and that it does not violate law or third-party rights.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use PreCode for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
- Attempt to access another user’s projects or data.
- Probe or disrupt the service (for example scraping, excessive automated requests, or security testing without permission).
- Upload malware or content intended to exploit the platform or third parties.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
AI-generated output
Documents, quality feedback, and regenerated sections may be produced with AI. They can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your situation. You must review all outputs before relying on them.
PreCode does not provide legal, financial, tax, security, or professional advice. You are solely responsible for implementation decisions and for compliance with laws applicable to your product.
MVP and changes
PreCode is offered as an evolving MVP. Features may change, be added, or be removed (including interview flow, document types, quality rules, export format, and storage behavior). We may perform maintenance that temporarily limits availability.
Destructive actions such as "start over" permanently remove planning data for a project (documents, quality results, exports, and interview answers) subject to our Privacy Policy. Use them carefully.
Fees
PreCode is free to join during the waitlist period. We have not launched paid checkout, and there is nothing to purchase on the public website today.
When the in-app product opens more broadly, we may introduce usage tiers with project limits. Any future paid plans will be described before checkout is enabled.
Our intellectual property
PreCode’s name, branding, website, software, and documentation templates (excluding your content) are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you rights to our trademarks or code except as needed to use the service.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using PreCode at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for us or other users, or where required by law. Provisions that by nature should survive (including disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive termination.
Disclaimer of warranties
PRECODE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PRECODE AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify PreCode and its operator against claims arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our intentional misconduct.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
Disputes should first be raised with us at the contact email below. Courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes that cannot be resolved informally, unless applicable law requires a different forum.
Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may require additional notice where required by law. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
